OpenRPF allows players to load modified files from a dedicated “mods” folder—similar to how OpenIV worked—without touching the original game files. This is a safer and more convenient way to keep modding alive on the new version.

While it might take time for full mod support to return, progress is steady. Developers like Alexander Blade are working hard behind the scenes to bring the tools back online.
